In the infancy of executive coaching,efforts were most often directed toward problem solving,remedial activities and “career saves”. This created a stigma about coaching “if you are mentored you are on the fast track,if you are being coached you are a step away from the departure lounge”
Coaching is not a punishment. Executive coaching is a pro-active leadership development tool. Having an executive coach is now considered a status symbol and an investment in and an endorsement of a bright corporate future,a leader being groomed for greater possibilities.
Coaching is widely used to develop leadership skills and for making smooth transitions in careers,roles and promotions and new hires. It is used much less for remedial employee management.
Life coaching is not therapy. Life coaching is for people who are healthy and well and like those seeking business or executive coaching want to increase their passion and success in the way they plan,manage,communicate and achieve in their life.
